Mission
      LILSI's mission is to attract, retain and develop life sciences companies in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, nutriceutical and cosmeceutical sectors on Long Island by providing business development, strategic networking, and educational opportunities to enhance corporate competitiveness, productivity, efficiency and profitability.

Objectives
      LILSI is focused on creating a nurturing business environment that comprehensively supports the life sciences community on Long Island by working to address issues of strategic importance to the long-term growth and sustainability of the life sciences sector in the region. LILSI represents the interests of the local life sciences industry through program development and government relations activities that maintain a clear visionary focus while creating a dynamic and highly interactive life sciences community. In this way, LILSI has profound potential to significantly impact the regional economy and quality of life by supporting companies that will develop and produce powerful diagnostic tools, targeted therapeutic interventions, and innovative technologies to assist, augment, and enhance our lives. For the benefit of the regional life sciences community, LILSI aims to:


1) Increase local, state and federal investments in the academic research infrastructure in the region
2) Facilitate technology development, technology transfer, and interactions between academia and local industry
3) Create strategic networking opportunities to foster collaborations and partnerships
4) Establish workforce training and educational programs
5) Increase availability and access to investment capital and financing sources
6) Identify suitable, desirable and affordable sites for laboratory and office facilities expansion
7)

Represent the Long Island life sciences community to influence public policy

8) Increase life sciences manufacturing capabilities and enhance product quality
9) Globally market Long Island as an epicenter for the life sciences
